Melty Colors!

It's Monday night and there's not much going on. We, my boyfriend and I, already called the bowling alley and there's no open bowl tonight, then we were going to go to Lowes to get stuff for some home improvement but it's raining ice right now (so bowling wouldn't have worked out anyway.) What to do?
Might as well FINALLY do something I've been wanting to do since the first day I saw it. MAKE MULTICOLORED CRAYONS!!

To being, unwrap however many crayons as you want. I set them up in color groups that I liked best. We ended up mixing them all around anyway so this was pointless.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Break the crayons up into small pieces. I found it was a little hard to get small enough pieces by breaking them with my hands, so I ended up cutting them with a butter knife. Be careful though, as the pieces will fly EVERYWHERE when you cut them.

We put them in the oven for.. actually neither of us can remember but I'll toss out around 8 minutes. All I can say is they melted super fast so keep your eyes peeled. Also, the smell when you open the oven is a little much so be prepared for that.

We wanted them to set quickly so we put them out in the snow. Before they cooled we twirled around some of the wax with toothpicks.

I was kind of disappointed when they were done setting because.. well look at that. It's not as cool looking as all the other ones I saw online.
BUT THEN! I flipped the mini-muffin tray and they came right out...
beautiful!
You can see how all the colors sort of sank to the bottom, but that's okay.

We're going to give them to Dustin's niece and nephew.

I really want to make more. I'd love to get a box of reds and pinks and make little heart shaped ones for Valentine's day. You can use candy molds for different shapes or probably any container that is oven safe.

I'm back

Hello! Long time no post, right? I couldn't remember the password for this account for the LONGEST TIME.  I am only back for a little while right now, then I plan to make a new account and get serious with this as I am now living back home, graduated college. ( yes! )

Just wanted to quickly update on a few things I got for Christmas this year and where you can get them for yourselves as well as...

Mally Beauty | Party Girl Palette
Comes with 3 cute little brushes, 4 shadow, and 2 blushes!
All of the shadow colors are shimmery. Top right is a nude ran that I would say could be used all over the lid the whole way up to the brow daily , beside that is almost so dark blue that it's black, below that is a GORGEOUS purple (maybe I'm biased since I've never come across a purple shadow that I don't love) with gold specks, and beside that is a shimmering brown.

It comes with this nice little plastic cover to keep the shadows from touching the blushes. One is a bronzer and the other is a just.. a pink blush. No crazy glitters or anything.

I always start with a generously moisturized face, then I base with Prime Time by bareMinerals all over. Under my eyes I mix Erase Paste shade No. 1 with Prescriptive Warm Beige. Believe it or not, my bronzer lately has been by Mary-Kate and Ashley for Walmart.

I prime my eyelids with Primer Potion in Sin. Both palettes are from Clinique, the one of the left is just a quad with Buttermilk, Beige Shimmer, Bewitched and Frosted Blossom. The one on the right is Strawberry Fudge (my favorite)

I apply buttermilk from my crease up to my brow first.

I then use the brown from the Strawberry Fudge palette in the outer corner of my eye. I dab it on, not swipe it.

I go about half way in with that color.

To make my eyes appear more awake, I use NYX Loose Pearl Pigment in Nude on the inner corner and a little up by my arch (not so much to look like '94 though ) Using the pink color of the Strawberry Fudge palette, fill in the rest of the lid, no higher than the crease.

For my liner I used Prestige liquid liner from CVS in dark brown along with Revlon ColorStay in brown

I line with the liquid liner on about 3/4th of the way. My tear ducts are really sensitive to liquid liner so I have to stop short. I go in afterward with the pencil liner on the inner corner and on the lower outer edge of my waterline.

I use One by One Volum Express in Black/Brown by Maybelline mascara. I brush my eyebrows with a clear mascara by MAX Factor.

I fill my brows in by using the darkest and second darkest colors of the Teddy Bear palette by Clinique.

For this look I blended Iced Lotus by Clinique with NARS Orgasm blush.
I  usually run my powder brush back under my eyes after I finish with everything to get rid of any fall out, then I'll dab a little extra Erase Paste for a brighter look.

nice and bright

Tonight I decided to descend back into time and go for a very summery bright look.
When I was getting ready for the day earlier, as in around noon earlier, I primed my eyes using Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. Over my lid and a little way up into my crease, I used Mary Kay Eyesicle Eye Color in Island Bronze.

After that all most likely wore off is when I decided to go for this look. I mixed Clinique Touch Tint for Eyes in Lilac Frost with NYX Pearl Mania in Space to create a wet sticking ground for the powder shadow.

After I lined my eyes with the Clinique/NYX mixture in a cat-eye look, I patted over top with Urban Decay in Electric. I used Midnight Cowboy by UD in the inner corner of my eye.

NARS Voyage (sadly broken) was used in the outer corner/crease of my eye.

Without black liner on waterline.

I used the Teddy Bear palette by Clinique to fill my brows.

For extra highlights I used Benefit High Beam near my brow arches, on my cheeks and down the bridge of my nose.
The color on my lips is Cool Watermelon by Maybelline.

Lion King Inspired Look

I have a photo shoot tomorrow and I'll be doing my own makeup for it. The theme is Disney villains and I will be Scar from the Lion King. I wasn't sure how to go about doing this look so I looked up a picture and it just came to me.

basic everday looks

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Clinique shadow in Buttermilk all over lid. Clinique Beige Shimmer on inner corner of my eye lid, Clinique Bewitched on outer corner blended inward. I used a VERY small amount of NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in blue in the center of my lid for a little pop of color (that can be worn daily)

UD Primer Potion in Sin. Clinique Buttermilk all over lid, Clinique Bewitched on outer corner. Benefit "Gimme Some" Plum on inner corner through center. Liner is Prestige black/brown. I fill in my brows with the Teddy Bear palette by Clinique

UD Primer Potion in Sin. Clinique Buttermilk all over lid, Clinique Beige Shimmer on inner corner, and Clinique Bewitched on outer corner. Under my eye is Erase Paste by Benefit. I'm only pointing it out here because you can see it's brightening abilities. The liner is Almay liquid in Black.
